Life at the Floe Edge

Each spring, the seasonal ice starts cracking, allowing the sun to reach the cold Arctic water. Once that happens, the Floe Edge comes to life. Some of Canada’s largest bird colonies are in the Arctic; tens of thousands of Beluga and Narwhals migrate to the Floe Edge for food, and Polar Bears start hunting seals.
